The Town of Arnprior, in partnership with the Arnprior Public Library, has completed the construction of the “Scharf Hall,” an expansion to the library building, as well as improvements to the outdoor area. The Town is grateful for having received a non-repayable contribution of $368,345 from the Government of Canada, through the Federal Economic Development Agency for Southern Ontario (FedDev Ontario), to undertake this project.
The new addition and outdoor space allow the the library to increase capacity for events and programing, create additional meeting room and provide outdoor space for programing and general use along the entrance to the Town’s Madawaska Riverfront pathway. A grand opening and official naming ceremony will be held in Spring 2024. Please watch the library’s communication channels for details on this event. The Scharf Hall is so named in recognition of the great financial contribution of the Scharf Family Charitable Trust and the trust of the late Norma Hall to help bring this project to fruition. The community's generosity for this and other library initiatives is greatly appreciated.
